On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, met in Mukalla with the leadership of the Al-Musayni’ah Cooperative Fishery Association and the Al-Wafa Fishery Association from Al-Raidah and Qusair District, in the presence of Engineer Yaslam Babalgom, Chairman of the Arabian Sea Fisheries Authority.
The meeting discussed the conditions of fishermen in Al-Raidah and Qusair District, the importance of preserving fish resources as a source of food and livelihood, and the measures necessary to ensure their sustainability.
It was agreed on the need to regulate fishing activities and implement work organization procedures, emphasizing the importance of organizing sardine fishing to prevent harm to marine resources and ensure their conservation. The meeting also agreed to take action against fishermen who violate laws and regulations.
In addition, the participants discussed future plans to rehabilitate the Al-Musayni’ah Fish Landing Center.
Governor Bin Madi affirmed the local authority’s commitment to preserving and regulating fishery resources, praising the residents of Al-Raidah and Qusair District for their cooperation with the authorities and their role in reporting violations.
